There have been few dates in recent years that have carried as much weight as September 11th. For 9 years that date has been burned into our collective consciousness as one of reverence and respect and mourning. It’s a date that will live on in our memories for a long, long time. Jessica and Mark decided to pay homage by getting married on that day. They decided that the best way to honor those lost was to make their day about love and honor and sacrifice.
Mark – who, besides being a tremendously good guy – is a police officer and gave one of the most moving speeches I’ve ever heard about the importance of that day and how they wanted to make it about love and not sadness. Between that, the childhood slideshow, and the other speeches, there was not a dry eye in the house.
It was a tremendous day and I was proud to be a part of it.
