On Saturday I had the pleasure of working with my pal Sonia from Saffron Studio. We got to cover Kavita + Raj’s rather large ( ~450 people) wedding in Jersey City. It was a fun day full of color and great people.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Sandy and Allen’s wedding with Nicole Polk. I’ve been a big fan of Nicole’s work for a long time, so it was a lot of fun to finally get to work with her.

Sandy and Allen’s day started at the Hilton. We worked our way down to Chinatown and then finally to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for their ceremony and reception
It was a great day, and the nighttime fire alarm was all taken in stride :)

Thanks to Nicole, and especially Sandy and Allen for allowing me to be part of their day.

This was not something I would normally have done, but since I have been reading 1776 the timing was perfect.

Yesterday I went to the once-every-ten-years Battle of Bordentown revolutionary war reenactment. To be honest, I was expecting more of a rinky-dink operation, but I was happily proved wrong.

There were hundreds, if not thousands of participants and every single one of them was dressed and outfitted in the most authentic manner possible. Most of the people I saw were also in character, acting as either British or American forces would have.

It was also one of the loudest things I have ever heard. The cannons looked small but packed quite a punch.

Overall it was a good experience. If a reenactment was this intense I can’t imagine what the real thing must have been like.

What a night.

To all of my friends and family that said having a dog was practice for having a kid – you were right.

Tonight Megan and I decided to go out to dinner for the first time since we got George (5 weeks ago). To those of you who don’t know George’s story, I suggest you scroll down a bit to find out.

We left George in his nice comfy crate with a tasty pumpkin and dogfood stuffed kong and a nylabone – enough to keep any normal dog happy and occupied for a while. George, however, is not normal. George has a bad case of separation anxiety, but we know that the only way to get him past it is to allow him to get accustomed to us being away. Tonight was part of that.

Somehow, in the 2.5 hours we were gone, our 7 month old dog managed to open not one, but two latches to his crate and escape. He then proceded to do some very interesting things:

1) He reached up on the kitchen counter and got the lamb roll I had bought for him. It’s like a big hot dog and you cut it up to use for training treats. I found a piece of the wrapper. Thats all that was left.

2) He took one of my my photo umbrellas, removed it from its packaging, and used the packaging as a chew toy. At least he was polite enough to not eat the umbrella.

3) He took two AAA batteries off my desk and placed them in the growing pile of junk he was assembling.

4) He found a bag from Megan’s lunch on the counter containing a tupperware container and silverware. He put it on the pile and removed the silverware before helping himself to some tasty bag.

He added a lot of other goodies to the pile, like the tivo remote, some socks and a pair of pants. The pièce de résistance was what he did to my favorite pair of shorts. He ate them. The dog ate my shorts. He ripped a big chunk out of one of the legs, chewed off the tag, ate the drawstring, and ripped open a pocket. I loved these shorts.

I know that what he did was a panic response so I can’t be too mad at him. But seriously, why my shorts?
